The Wandlyn in Amherst opened in 1969 by the Llewelyn Family.  Over the years the newer suites were added, the pool was built inside, the  lounge was built and the convention centre was opened.  Generations of locals have been married at the Wandlyn and decades of Hockey tournaments, young kids spent many winter tournaments over at this building and enjoying the pool.  After multiple owners since the 1990's, The Ward family purchased the property in 2021 and in summer of 2023 rebranded as Travelodge Amherst.  To keep the historic tie to the Wandlyn name, we have maintained the name for our banquet service as The Wandlyn Convention Centre!

There is absolutely no smoking, no cannabis or vaping allowed inside any part of the building.   We do have designated area OUTSIDE where you can smoke cigarettes if needed.  Cannabis products or tabacco products are not permitted to be smoked within 5 Meters (25 Feet) of our property. 

We are proud to be part of bringing this Queen of Amherst back to life.  Our goal is to continue to improve the property, expand its offerings,  and helps to foster strong bonds, and lasting memories.  We also want to create an environment of diversity, acceptance and shared responsibility for each-others well being.  Amherst will welcome you, the Travelodge Amherst and Wandlyn Convention Centre will welcome you.  Do your part to be a productive citizen in this residence and this Town.
